Episode 1 Step-by-Step
1. Namaste: The word Namaste is an ancient Indian greeting. In Yoga, it’s a term of mutual respect between instructor and student. Begin and end every session of Yoga with “Namaste” in order to mentally prepare.
2. Move to the Side: Notice how straight Eleanora’s back is as she moves toward the ground. Making a practice of this in Yoga and everyday life will result in a stronger core and spine.
3. The Move Towards The Ground: Pay close attention to the speed at which this maneuver is executed. Slow and precise. Take your time.
4. On the Back: A good thing to remember when practicing Yoga is the spiritual elements at work. It’s important to be comfortable in your poses in order to take advantage of Yoga’s relaxation.
5. The Hamstring Stretch: While doing this pose, remember your abdominals. Visualize your navel pressing into your spine. Continue this throughout the pose and discover fantastic results.
6. Straight Leg: Keep speed in mind. Hold your leg in the air as if suspended by cables. Take your time. Feel resistance from your toes all the way to your abdominals. Once your feel it working – switch legs and repeat.
7. Preparation For A Gentle Spinal Twist: Move your arms to the side and bring your knees to your chest in order to prepare for the Spinal Twist. Spend a few moments breathing and relaxing before continuing.
8. The Gentle Spinal Twist: As your legs move left, your head moves right. Pause here and enjoy for a few moments. Breathe and repeat on the opposite side.
9. Namaste: Honor yourself as well as your instructor as she honors you back. Namaste.
